Y’all think this is a headline in a Texas paper???? Wrong – it’s a headline in a VANCOUVER paper. Apparently they have the same problem with the US as we have with Mexico. The customs’ officer union is up in arms (no pun intended) (customs officers are not allowed to carry guns) because there are 225 unguarded roads that run between the two countries. “it is clear that our entire border has become a veritable sieve” says a report. Now my first thought was “Why on earth would this be a problem??? Are there that many Americans trying to get into Canada – we don’t have a draft anymore”. Well, apparently there are – our thugs and criminals trying to escape prosecution.
BTW – my cell phone is not working most of the time – battery will not hold a charge – spent a very frustrating 45 minutes with Sprint tonight – they do not have stores here – don’t care that they sold me a defective phone – one person said they could ship me a new one here for $150 – got disconnected – called back – next person said they COULDN”T ship to Canada – so don’t know what I’m going to do. If the rain lets up enough tomorrow – I’ll look for a Radio Shack and see if I can get a replacement phone or battery.
Does anyone know what the IRON CHEF TV show is? Television here SUCKS – the other nite I watched this inane show where all these chefs were running around like idiots creating gourmet dishes out of potatoes. Then there were three people judging their creations and you would have thought they were talking about wine or art, but instead of SPUDS!!!! And the whole set of the show looked like it was in Communist China – these huge pictures of these Communist leaders – it was all REALLY bizarre!!!!!!
And lest y’all think I am having any fun at WORK – you can think again there, too. This week I have spent my time writing about FOREIGN EXCHANGE HEDGING – and the rest of the week I get to spend with some of my favorite people on earth – LAWYERS!!!!!!!
Please, please, please – those of you who have an ear to God – beg him to let the rain stop by Saturday so I can have some FUN this weekend. (And while you’re at it, I wouldn’t mind maybe a 15-20 degree kick in the temperature).
