Belgium February 2006 - The unrefrigerated milk thing

Hey guys - thanks for all the responses on this. Asseveral of you pointed out, milk is not refrigeratedwhile it is in the cow. ALso, many of you speculatedon the fact that it may not be pasturized here. Theyclearly have a different set of standards for foodstorage and prepration here - which, as a couple ofyou also pointed out, is tough on a picky eater. The place where we order in lunch for the office has areally good chicken sandwich which I eat most days. Yesterday though I wanted something different soordered "rosbif". Now, I like my beef rare, but thereis a huge difference between rare and RAW. WHen youlift the meat off the bun and the bread is soaked inblood, it is RAW not rare!!!!!!Remember the e-mail I sent about the beautiful snow? Well by the time I got the bloody sandwich, the snowhad stopped and the sun was shining so I decided totake a walk - going the long way back to the hotel tograb some COOKED lunch. The sun was shining so Ididn't think to grab my umbrealla - it was a beautifulwalk for about 10 minutes - then the snow cameagain!!!! I got back to the office wet all the waythrough and looking like a drowned rat. They werewatching me from the office and everyone was laughingtheir you know what's off. I guess it was prettyfunny!!!! Someone made some comment about posting astory on the company itranet.Oh and BTW, thanks to all of you who suggested I buythe milk and stick it in the snow. ha ha. :-)
